Quality-Centric Social Media
- 4-27-2010
- Categorized in: Social Media

So, you know that I'm all about the Online Marketing Funnel and social media is one of those components of a successful funnel.
Now, the follower-centric social networker probably tweets about 5 to 6 times a day and blogs once a week. That's how to get and keep a great following. It's a lot of work and in fact, one of the challenges for CEO's to become fluent in social media.
But, if you're looking to engage in social media, you don't need quantity so much as you need quality. There is something to be said for quality-centric social media. You don't build the large following of the highly engaged social networker but you can still generate a brand and some awareness.
For small businesses, I would recommend weekly tweets and a few a week if possible. As for blogging, I would recommend weekly blogs and if that's not always practical, at least, once a month.
While quality is a top priority, quantity is tantamount to a follower-centric social networking model. In an Online Marketing Funnel, of course, we need both. You can't build a funnel with just one follower or prospect so the right blend of quality vs quantity is very important.
Get a program tailored to meet your sales & marketing goals for the business. Sticking to it is still the most important aspect of a good social life.
